about

Recorded the day it was written in February of 2018, 'As the Heralds Revere You' is a simple song for an uncertain relationship. It's an attempt to say 'I appreciate and am thankful for you, whatever may happen.'

lyrics

In the winter the crow came,
a messenger broken.

I picked the flowers of Eden,
my lungs barely breathing.

You were young and, I, afraid;
I saw my innocence fading.
Seven angels then came
holding anchors and chains.

Dionysus I pray to,
let me baptise and save you.

Up the hill where the stones loosed,
my mind I have loaned you

Then world turns to grey for the day of separation.
I await and lonely lay for the promised reparation.

With the earth slowly shifting,
teach me that which I'm missing

In your eyes I have seen these;
the breath of the green leaves.

As the heralds revere you
and the moon follows near you,
bless the song that is made while
these ears may still hear you.
